MARX TO ENGELS

IN LONDON

Paris, 28 September 1882

DEAR FRED,

A letter from Laura in which I had enclosed a note[1] was accidentally left lying on the writing-desk at Laura's and so cannot be sent off before the post goes. But in order that no time may be lost, I would again ask you to send me some bank notes from London as soon as possible (address as before to Argenteuil), in case Dr Dourlen, as I hope, allows me TO CROSS THE CHANNEL.

Today rain is pelting down from the so-called heavens, despite the fact that Alphand continues to fear a famine d'eau.[2]

At the same time, drop me a couple of LINES AS TO THE state of the weather in London.
